Music Hardware : Toaster: a new UDP/Midi Interface - macmusicThe Toaster is a captation system dedicated to real time applications.
Analog sensors can easily be connected to the Rack.
Most usefull are flexion, pressure, light, acceleration, magnetic field,
potentiometer, switch, etc... The Toaster is also MIDI compatible.
It can be connected to OSC (Open Sound Control) software (for exemple Max/MSP and Pure Data).

Sensors are connected to the box through stereo jack connectors.
The 1U Rack gets analogical information from sensors and transmits them to one computer or more, with a high band (Ethernet (10MB/s), UDP network protocol), with a precision of 16 bits by sensor.

These tools include five sound processors, 6-band EQ, classic tube modeled compressor, multi-band master limiter, soft-clipping stage, and a complete mastering suite containing the modules in one efficient, "gold sounding" mastering plug-in constructed with actual physical models of tube (valve) circuitry. Users of Cubase and Logic will be happy indeed!
