MP3 Reader from Apple
ITunes has a powerful new feature: accessibility. Because iTunes seamlessly connects to the rest of iLife, you can now access your iTunes digital music library and playlists from iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD. That means, for instance, you can use your music to build a slideshow in iPhoto, add a background soundtrack to your latest iMovie masterpiece, or liven up your motion menus in iDVD.
The most revolutionary feature of iTunes is the ability to generate dynamic Smart Playlists. iTunes is in tune with your preferences and listening habits, so you can play your favorites again and again. Instead of having to create playlists manually by clicking and dragging individual songs, you simply indicate what kind of music you want to hear. iTunes lets you set the parameters, indicating various attributes such as My Rating (the application lets you assign up to five stars to your favorites), Genre, Composer, Artist, Play Count (an "audiodometer" that keeps track of how many times you listen to each song), Last Played (attaches a time and date stamp indicating the last time you listened to a particular song) and so on. iTunes then automatically finds the type of songs you've asked for and creates a personalized playlist — Smart Playlists can even dynamically update as you add more music to your collection.
iTunes automatically synchronizes with the sensational new iPod at high speeds over FireWire. Simply connect iPod to your Mac with FireWire and it just takes 10 seconds to download an entire music CD. iTunes is the software part of the equation that lets you pack 4,000 songs in your pocket so you can take your digital music library on the go. What's more, iTunes lets you stay in sync with Play Count, Last Played and where your Audible spoken word content left off. When you listen to an audiobook on your Mac or iPod, they set a virtual bookmark. The next time you sync your iPod with your computer, iTunes 3 will remember exactly where you left off.
iTunes is now able to organize and play Audible spoken word content. You'll love Audible, the service that provides digital versions of over 18,000 best selling books as well as publications like The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and archived radio shows.
With iTunes it's easy to create CDs and MP3 CDs that playback on your favorite audio system, Macs and on Windows-based PCs. Whenever you select a playlist in your library, the Browse button automatically turns into the Burn button. Click Burn CD, insert a blank disc, and iTunes burns away. It's that simple.
