I can't seem to find one app that elegantly takes a multiplexed mpeg1 video file from a digital camera and turn into a quicktime format that iMovie will be able to grab the audio. So I use another app to break the mpeg1 file into seperate audio and video files, and I use SoundConverter to turn the mp2 into an aiff file.
It's simple and sounds good. Just drag an audio file onto the app and it makes the conversion automatically.
