LC Xmu provides emulation of an Emagic/ Mackie Logic Control in software, for control and automation of Emagic's Logic Audio, Logic Gold, Logic Platinum, Logic Express or Logic Pro software. A hardware controller's knobs, faders, buttons or keys can be mapped to the Logic Control's various functions, and Logic will behave exactly as if it has a real Logic Control connected.

LC Xmu is a compatible, effective and flexible way of using generic controllers with Logic, without spending hours (or days, or weeks) building a custom Logic Environment. It also provides a cost-effective introduction to the functions of the Logic Control for those considering purchasing one, or those who may be required to work with one in the future.

LC Xmu also makes a useful addition for those who already own Logic-supported control surfaces (like the Logic Control, Mackie Control, Mackie HUI and Baby HUI, Motormix, Tascam US- and FW- series, Yamaha mixers, Radikal SAC, etc). A generic controller can be used via LC Xmu, in addition to your supported control surfaces. In conjunction with Logic Pro or Logic Platinum's Control Surface Groups, this setup can be configured for the flexibility of two independent controllers or the convenience of one larger controller.

Any generic hardware controller with at least 8 faders or knobs capable of sending CC messages with absolute values (0-127),

AND:

at least 20 two-state buttons capable of sending a separate note or CC message for button press and release (often called "momentary" button mode), or at least 20 midi keys, or any combination of 20 buttons/keys. You may be able to get by with fewer buttons or keys, but you may lose access to some core LC/MC functionality (depending on the host application). Multiple controllers may be merged to provide sufficient buttons/keys.

MOTU applications (Digital Performer, AudioDesk, CueMix) are not currently supported, because they cannot address a Mackie Control via a virtual CoreMIDI port — email MOTU support about this.

Mac OS X 10.3.8 or higher is supported. Earlier Mac OS X versions may work, but are unsupported.
