Buzzer2 is the final release of buzZer, a polyphonic stereo VCO VCF VCA Synthesizer. It's basically buzZer with a feature updated DSP engine and a new userfriendly GUI. buzZer and Buzzer2 can be used together in one host application.

For years two offerings by Alphakanal have remained on top of the free virtual instrument list, BuzZer and BuzZer2. The interface is nothing fancy, but it is easy to get around, and it offers all the basic subtractive synthesis elements with a few less common features added. I feel BuzZer2, and likewise the simpler BuzZer, are of the quality all other freeware AU virtual instrument developers should strive.
I love this little synth. It is not what you would describe as sophisticated in sound, but combine it with any number of effects, and even free ones, and you are making noise that does not suggest "free" in any way... And the simplicity of it is refreshing, as you always know what it can do, and it never gets ahead of you in complexity. And it has a genuine vocoder vowel sound as well. Great for adding a touch of spice to a track needing a bit more of something.
If it were $20, I would give it a 3, but as free, it is worth more than a 5.
