Virtual Additive Synthesizer
Additive synthesis with four sound sources morphing in two dimensions controlled by arbitrary envelopes creating long evolving sounds, rhythmic patterns and even vocal phrases.
Select sound sources from the built in presets or construct your own sound sources from scratch.
A number of high level parameters such as Brightness and Harmonic spread can control hundreds of parameters.
Features:
° 8 independent additive synths
- four morphable sound sources
- 512 partials per voice
- harmonic/inharmonic spectra
- arbitrary noise spectra
- morphable filter banks
- ensemble
- 3 Envelopes with tempo sync
- 64 time/level segments per envelope
- 2 LFOs
° 8 Effect racks
- Chorus/Phaser/Flanger
- Distortion
- Echo/Delay
- Reverb
° Arpeggiator
° System
- standalone and plugin

Version 1.5 |
MacOS X PPC |

Feb 4, 2004 |
- Import of WAV/AIFF Samples in mono or stereo for Resynthesis
- The sound analysis is based on Fourier therorem.
- Decomposition of Sample into 512 partials.
- Each partial has internal envelopes for Frequency, Level and Pan
- The length of the analyzed sample can be virtually unlimited.
- Single notes, Loops and entire pieces can be analyzed and resynthesized.
- Time warp envelopes with up to 64 Breakpoints control the movement through the resynthesized sample.
- Special "Formant" Analyzer enables the automatic extraction of the sound characteristic.
- The resynthesized sound can be manipulated through the same high level controls of CUBE 1.0.
- Easy to use: no special preparation for samples is needed.
Some general new features:
- SOLO Function for each source.
- Global level for each source.
- Microtuning.

There's an app quitting bug with the Cube 2.1 vst plug in Live 5.2 UB version...The AU version works fine. I had to remove the vst version to get Live 5.2 up and running again...Sounds great though!...check cpu usage on certain patches...5 stars for the sound and concept...No stars for the annoying Live vst bug....On a dual 1.83 macbook pro
