Even with it's great reviews, impOSCar is still largely underrated in my opinion. I've never touched a real OSCar, so I don't know exactly how good the emulation is from a hands-on experience, but the sound is downright outstanding. It is actually pretty underpriced, which could be why it doesn't get paid more attention. Very full and fat sound. The ability to program your own additive synth sounds and put them through the impOSCars superb analog filter results in a very warm analog "wavetable" type sound, which is hard to come by.
Very good emulation. Shining and deep fat sound. Aggressive touch that makes it very organic. Excellent price in the new GForce company. Uncomfortable interface. Good synth that without making much noise one is between the best options of the market.
Full-Fat sounds from a detailed repro of a rare early synth. Don't expect Absynth type multi layered FX patches or loads of unuseable HUGE sounds that could score a movie single handed. NO! this baby just gives you good old fashioned straight for the throat clout. In fact the only critism you can level at OSC is that compared to some of todays soft-synths it's a bit one dimensional - but then again that's what makes it so mix friendly. You pays yer money...and I'll wager that if you buy this (£100!?) you'll still be useing it when those £300 flash-synths are gathering metophorik dust!
