Steinberg's Xphraze is now shipping. Xphraze has been developed by Wizoo and offers musicians completely new ways of bringing rhythmically phrased sounds into projects quickly and intuitively. Xphraze is the first virtual synthesizer in a long time that has the potential to revolutionize music making for many.

Xphraze is the first synthesizer to be based on free-form and real-time automation of rhythm and sound. Instead of having to be programmed into a sequencer, rhythmic phrases can be built in just a few seconds with only a few clicks and let loose simply by playing a note or chord. Xphraze is built around the song tempo, the Phrase Generator, envelopes and LFOs all follow the song tempo automatically. Although this concept is utterly new to the instrument market, many musicians have long been waiting for exactly this type of instrument, especially those who have been forced to work with partial solutions such as polyphonic arpeggiators or step sequencers.

As is to be expected from a top-class synthesizer and phrase generator, Xphraze offers the entire synthesizer sound palette available today, including stereo poly-patterns, hammering bass lines, dazzling arpeggios, distorted chord riffs and up to 4-layered drum loops and effect patterns synchronized to the song tempo.

Rounding off the extensive functionality on offer is multisample import, vector synthesis, four-way mutitimbrality, 8 stereo effect sections and a feature which lets the user remix prepared Xphraze songs live using a MID keyboard. This makes Xphraze not merely one more VST synthesizer among many, but opens up new, quicker and more intuitive ways to work for pop music arrangers and DJs, as well as offering utterly new ways of producing sounds.
