VSL Vienna MIR and Vienna Imperial

Friday January 16, 2009. 04:21 PM, by Nantho NAMM 2009 > Plug-ins > Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL)
Plug-ins : VSL Vienna MIR and Vienna Imperial - macmusicAt this year's Winter NAMM Show, the Vienna Symphonic Library team have announced that they will be presenting a wealth of innovations at its largest booth in the history of the company. The revelation of the long-awaited Vienna MIR reverb software, the Vienna Suite audio plug-ins, as well as the current update of Vienna Ensemble 3 are giving the company enough reasons to travel with its massive sound proof Presentation Cube, which will appear at their booth, #7101 in Lobby A.

Furthermore, the largest virtual piano ever seen, the Vienna Imperial, will be presented along with other Vienna Instruments by the biggest NAMM team the company has ever brought to the United States.

Vienna MIR
After years of theoretical and applied research, technological changes, hardcore software development and even experiencing a few setbacks, the Vienna Symphonic Library finally presents Vienna MIR, slated for release as both download and DVD products in the coming months. The software solution that incorporates a complete multi-impulse response reverberation and mixing stage will be presented by project manager Dietz Tinhof himself, using a 5.1 surround system in the sound-proof Presentation Cube. Shows are daily at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00.

Vienna Suite
The Vienna MIR shows in the "Cube" will be preceded by half-hour presentations of Vienna Suite, the company's new 64-bit high-end audio plug-in bundle that was released just two months ago.

Vienna Imperial
The new Vienna Instruments collection Vienna Imperial is the company's new virtual piano. The venerable Bösendorfer Imperial 290-755, equipped with the piano manufacturer's patented CEUS technology, was put to work by the Vienna team at the Silent Stage for two months, which allowed them the most precise and by far most extensive piano sample recordings ever conducted in the history of music technology. 1,200 recorded samples per key represent a magnitude of sampling detail that has been unthinkable up to now, including up to 100 velocities per key. Vienna Symphonic Library's artistic director and project manager Michael Hula presents this massive piano on the Vienna Orchestral Piano prototype, Vienna's first hardware concept study, at the open presentation stage right next to the "Cube".

New US Dollar prices effective January 16, 2009
On the heels of Vienna's holiday sale that expired on January 15, 2009, and reflecting the current exchange rates of the US dollar against the Euro, the North American prices of all Vienna Symphonic Library DVD products will be adjusted on January 16, 2009. The new retail prices are somewhat lower than the previous retail prices published before the promotional sale. The new prices are approximately 15% higher than the holiday sale prices.
