Akai EWI4000S is going with the wind

Saturday January 21, 2006. 08:10 PM, by lepetitmartien NAMM06 > Music Hardware > Akai
Music Hardware : Akai EWI4000S is going with the wind - macmusicAkai announced its new impersonation of MIDI wind controller the EWI4000S. It's much more than the previous models as it's now an analogue modeled synth (built in), so it sports MIDI in and out ports. But it's not everything, there's some effect processing too: reverb, delay, and chorus, another first in wind controllers. And for the complete image, there's a dedicated software for editing sounds which are stored in the EWI4000S synth.

- Synth with 2 oscillators and filters, dual voiced.
- Touch sensitive keys and octave roller.
- 2 Digit 7 Segment LED Program Display, shows program number when the Program Change sensor is touched
- Standard accessories: 32MB Compact Flash Card, Power cable
- HOLD key to play a second note on top of the helt one.
- Audio out by unbalanced 1/4" phone jack
- Headphone Output: 1/8" stereo jack
- MIDI In and Out
- AC Adaptor input, but the EWI can run on batteries
- Cable Holder to prevent cables sweeping

Price $999, available first quarter 2006.
