Music Hardware : Supermodel of the world: Korg Radias - macmusicTaken from the OASYS monster flagship of KORG, the MMT (Multiple Modeling Technology) synthesis engine now will power the Radias synth in a more accessible way. It is a virtual analogue synth, with a maximum of 24 voices (depending of DSP use), available either in a rack format (Radias-R) or plain synth with a tilt pannel in a rather uncommon form. It smells technology that way, but I'm less sure of the reliability in the end, but the control panel is awesome. The Radias is composed of:

- A synth section with both modeling and PCM as generation sources, 2 multimode filters, a waveshaper, 3 envelopes, 2 LFO, 3 virtual patches, 3 modulation sequences.
- A vocoder, 16 bands, with formant motion, shift and hold.
- An Envelope follower.
- 30 effects, usable as 2 band EQ + 2 inserts per timbre (X4) and a master effect.
- Arpeggiator 6 types, 32 steps.
- Step sequencer, 8 notes polyphonic, 2X32 steps.
- 32 drums kits
- 256 programs, 128 timbres templates, 128 insert effects template, 128 master effects template.
- MIDI in, out, thru.
- Assignable pedal and switch ins
- 2 audio in (one with also a minijack mic/lin switchable level)
- L/mono and R main audio out, L and R individual output, phones out
- USB
- 128X64 LCD display
- 49 keys velocity sensitive keyboard with pitch and mod wheels.
- Included headset microphone
- Editor/librarian software for OS X

Expected price $1899 for the rack, $1999 for the keyboard version.
