Rumor : Mackie Control compatible with Logic - macmusicThe Mackie Control will soon be compatible with Logic and Logic will be compatible with the Mackie Control protocol and both will work with Nuendo, Cubase SX, Sonar, Digital Performer, Cool Edit.

The upgrade will be made very simply via a combination of keys and a MIDI file freely downloadable on the Mackie web site. The next shipped Mackie Controls will integrate this 2 modes (Mackie and Logic). Notice that a HUI emulation can be added on the 2 surfaces for 99 USD.

Seems that Mackie and Emagic are once more the best of friends.

The plugin works in any VST "Mach-O" host, and has been tested in Logic Audio via the VST-AU adapter from FXPansion. Versions for Mac OS 9 are also available.

CamelPhat is a flexible multi-effects processor, capable of anything from fattening a kick drum, to producing a great guitar sound or building up a thumping dance bass-line. The Liverpool based company, founded by 4 former AMS-Neve R&D engineers, will initially focus on the development of a range of audio software plug-ins.

The SV-517 is a 4 band parametric EQ, available for OS9 and OSX (and PC) in VST format (AudioUnit version due later this year). It uses 'state-space' analogue modelling techniques to simulate classic EQ designs, and can produce very authentic results.
The SV-517 costs GBP 149.99 and can be purchased from the website. A 30-day trial is also available on the website.
