VxPlug has been developed to load VST plug-ins within a host application with the ability to control them from a single user interface, as well as define the point where audio processing takes place in a flexible manner. Host parameter automation is supported.
Actually, vxPlug consists of 2 plug-ins : vxPlugControl and vxPlugClient.
vxPlugControl loads VST plug-ins and controls their parameters. Host parameter automation is supported.
The point of processing audio in the host application is determined by vxPlugClient. Every instance of vxPlugClient is able to send and receive audio data to/from vxPlugControl. Within vxPlugControl, the audio data is routed to the plug-ins you have loaded before.

Modartt has releases its latest add-on, free for all Pïanoteq users : a CP-80, famous electro-acoustic piano, heard on numerous recordings of the 70's-80's (from Tony Banks to Tania Maria).
The add-on offers two versions :
First, the "CP-80 original", which is an attempt to be as close as possible to the original recorded instrument.
Second, the "CP-80 restored", which is an attempt to provide a 'virtual' restoration of the instrument renewing particularly the wounded strings which lacked the brilliance from brand new strings.
The 2.2.1 update is also available, which offers a 'flat' temperament that supports tuning of certain synthesizers with octaves having exact ratio 2.
SoundBlade combines ease of use and exceptional features. Running on Mac OS X, soundBlade relies on Core Audio. The 1.2.1 release incorporates hundreds of optimizations and stability enhancements as well as several new features.
Combining Sonic Studio's benchmark premastering functionality with the signal processing, restoration and comprehensive editing, soundBlade carries an economical MSRP of $1495. The update is free for existing owners.

Cognitone, based in Hamburg, Germany, creates unusual programs that help with chords, scales and harmony and support the composition of original music.
The actual procedure of composing original music is rarely supported well. It usually requires a lot of experience, physical skills and a formal education in order to write a decent song, or setup an orchestral arrangement. When it comes to developing new ideas from scratch, the choice of tools is limited.
Cognitone's intelligent software companions simplify the early stages of the musical creation process. The first product, Harmony Navigator (MacOS X and Windows), is already available. The more comprehensive Music Prototyping Studio is intended for professional use and is announced for 2008.
The software can be purchased for 99 Euros on the vendor's website. A free 30-day trial version is available for download.

Thanks to ferisella, MacMusic member, we know that Logic 8 first update is here !
We hope that the bugs are fixed...
As we have just downloaded it, we can't already say what's fixed or new, except for the secure latency mode (allowing to force a Send to remain active even if Low Latency mode is engaged), a new selection tool, simultaneous edition of mutiple channel strips, new functions on Logic's instruments (exs24, Ultrabeat) and plugs (Delay Designer), improvement of the icon selector (now handles up to 32767 icons), way better graphic handling, etc.
