QuikQuak has updated its reverb and acoustic room simulator RaySpace to version 2.3. You can now export the current impulses to be used in convolution reverbs. Edit, listen, then quickly export impulses as full 32 bit, 5 channel reverb outputs. The high quality surround reverb can of course be enjoyed natively in RaySpace. With surrounding walls, source and listener positions updated while you listen. A stereo width controller has been added to further manipulate the reverb, allowing for tighter mono, or wide spacious stereo signals. Metering levels for quiet passages has also been enhanced, for a more accurate and useful feedback.

That's a good news : Apogee Electronics Corporation announces that its new Symphony card is now shipping worldwide. Symphony PCI Express card is a digital computer interface that is based on the PCI-Express architecture for Apple's Macintosh computers. Controlled by Apogee's Maestro software, Symphony features 32 channels of digital I/O on a single PCI-Express card format. With support for sample rates up to 192 kHz, Symphony can be used as a digital router or patch-bay when connected to external converters or other digital outboard equipment. Apple's G5, Symphony is the only connectivity solution that offers high end, professional users the capability to utilize up to 192 channels of audio simultaneously in a single computer, providing more than enough I/O for even the biggest scoring sessions.

FabFilter has just released FabFilter Twin 1.11, Volcano 1.13 and One 3.04. These new versions contain bug fixes as well as improvements and new features. The OS X versions of the plug-ins are now Universal Binaries that can be used on both PowerPC and Intel Macs.

These new versions are available in the MacMusic software section.

A new compressor from Massey Plug-Ins, the Massey CT4 provides smooth and clean gain reduction, but with a little punch and character. And, the simple, idiot-proof interface lets you find your sound with ease. The plug-in supports both Pro Tools LE, HD, and MIX systems. The demo never expires and doesn't beep or mute the audio.
A full version is available for $69 which includes additional features.

The Sound Guy has announced the release of SFX Machine Pro 1.0, an audio multi-effects plug-in for Mac. SFX Machine Pro is the latest entry in the SFX Machine family. It comes with over 300 effects, including more than 50 new effects. In addition, a Preset Editor provides access to the underlying modular synthesis engine, allowing users to create their own effects from scratch. The plug-in provides Tempo Sync, which matches LFO frequencies and delay times to the host sequencer's tempo, and it includes an output limiter, a new interface, and twice as much delay memory as SFX Machine RT. Automated parameter control is possible via a simple "MIDI Learn" interface, and a Randomize button allows quick experimentation.

Ardour is now available as version 0.99.3. This first Universal Binay release also fixes several bugs. Ardour is a digital audio workstation. You can use it to record, edit and mix multi-track audio. Ardour capabilities include: multichannel recording, non-linear, non-destructive region based editing with unlimited undo/redo, full automation support, a mixer whose capabilities rival high end hardware consoles, lots of plugins to warp, shift and shape your music, and controllable from hardware control surfaces at the same time as it syncs to timecode.
