Moog music announced that the first production models of the long-awaited new Etherwave Pro theremin have begun coming off the assembly line. The Etherwave Pro is a professional quality theremin featuring classic theremin sounds, excellent playability housed in a eye-catching cabinet. It is designed as a solution for the gigging musician who wants the best theremin available in a portable package. The Etherwave Pro features removable pitch and volume antennas. The Pitch range of this instrument extends to 6 1/2 octaves.
WormHole by Apulsoft is an Audio Unit that can transmit audio via TCP/IP between applications or to send audio between multiple computers. The new version 1.2 features : TCP/IP latency drastically reduced, VST version automatically detects whether the plugin is being run mono or stereo, nicer look of the manual, less CPU load and fixed problems with WormHoleConfigAuthorize in Mac OSX 10.2.
Ivory is a sample-based triple piano virtual instrument by Synthogy and produced by piano sound designer Joe Ierardi. Ivory features over 3,500 piano samples designed to recreate every nuance of three grand pianos: Steinway D 9' Concert Grand, Bosendorfer 290 Imperial Grand and Yamaha C7 Grand.
Ivory is available for AU, VST and RTAS, on both Mac OS 9 and OS X and costs $349.

According to strong insider sources, Apple would have discontinued Emagic's audio and midi interfaces production line (Unitor8, AMT8, MT4, A26, A62). It appears that Apple won't replace these at all... Due to our source's role, we can surely believe that this is not just a rumor but true facts!
Concerning softwares, it also seems that both Emagic WaveBurnerPro (included in Logic) and SoundDiver (probably the last free beta) will not be developed anymore. This now reduces the from now on legacy Emagic product line to Apple Logic Pro and Logic Express. That's It!

Pyper 0.22 by Andy Szybalski is a musical development environment. It allows you to write Python scripts that generates music in real-time. Pyper uses QuickTime Musical Instruments for synthesis.

GRBand Assistant is a collection of software utilities (GB DrumLoops, GB Import and MidiMaster) designed to enhance the funcionality of Apple's GarageBand product. Andy's software just posted an update to version 2.0.2 for GB Import prompt user for location of samples.
MOTU announced an update to version 1.24 for its USB Midi Driver (USB Fastlane, Micro express, Express XT & MIDI, Timepiece AV). This update features : improved MIDI timing support with Propellerheads Reason, and clockworks support for the DTP has also been added. Refer to the Clockworks manual link below.
The 117th Audio Engineering Society Convention will take place at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California from Thursday, October 28 until Sunday, October 31, 2004. We notice that this year, and for the very first time, Apple will be present at this show on booth 910.
