Audio Ease has announced that BarbaBatch is now available for Mac OS X. BarbaBatch is a batch sound file conversion program, which supports and converts more than 50 sound file formats. The v4 CD also includes the 3.9 version for Mac OS 9.

BarbaBatch 4 costs $395 and the update from previous versions costs $169.

At summer NAMM, Arturia announced the version 2.0 of its Moog Modular V. It's done and the soft is now available. This faithful reproduction of the legendary Moog modular systems comes back with major improvements. Among the features added in the upgrade are : new ergonomics, improvements on the oscillators, new Unison mode, new Audio-In possibilities, soft-clipping emulation is now done on each mixer, new modules (ring modulator, formant Filter,...), 200 new presets and much more...

This upgrade is free to all registered users.

Spongefork is a complete softsynth, sampler, live improvisation instrument, and soundfile processing application. SF's oscillators and interface are controllable via a unique XY based modulation controller, your computer keyboard, by external pitch tracking, or by MIDI input. Spongefork 3.1 fixes a conflict with Macs without sound input devices.

Spongefork 3 costs $59 and a 30-day trial version is available.

Digidesign hast posted the last update 6.4.1 for Pro Tools Mix systems only. Pro Tools TDM 6.4.1 is the final Pro Tools software release to officially support the Pro Tools|24 MIX product line on Power Mac G4 with OS X 10.3.4 software. This update features +12 dB Fader Gain, support for the new Command|8 control surface, hierarchical Plug-in Menus, support for 23.976 fps and more.

This update is free. Another update for previous TDM Mix systems will be available soon and will cost $35.

Digidesign has posted an update 6.4 cs7 for Pro Tools HD and LE systems on Mac OS X. This update fixes : Pro Tools 6.4 crashes when importing an OMF or browsing OMF media containing SDII audio, sample-rate error messages when importing an OMF, crash when importing OMF's generated with Adrenaline-based Media Composers.

Synapse Audio have released the Poly-850, a new VSTi synthesizer plug-in for Mac OS X, which started out as an emulation of a vintage synth. The Poly-850 features 2 oscillators, one filter for all voices, 3 envelopes, a modulation generator and a chorus effect.

Demo version and OS X version will be available soon. Poly 850 will cost $79.

Augustus Loop by Expert Sleepers is an emulation of a tape-based delay effect, with some extra features to facilitate its use as a looping device. This new 1.1 beta 3 version features : host tempo, audio-triggered record start and MIDI clock out.
