Griffin Technology Inc today announced a new cable made exclusively for connecting a guitar directly to the mini jack input of a Mac. This high quality magnetically shielded cable eliminates the need for additional adapters when plugging a guitar directly into programs like GarageBand, Amplitube. The GarageBand Guitar Cable contains both connection types and splits the mono guitar signal into the stereo mini jack.

MusicLab have released RealGuitar v1.5 and Rhythm'n'Chords Pro v2.5. RealGuitar is now also available as a VSTi for OS X. In RealGuitar, new features are : added special 'RnC' mode providing the direct access for Rhythm'n'Chords Pro 2.5 MFX plug-in to RealGuitar multi-sample architecture. RealGuitar is now Mac compatible (OSX VSTi only). Rhythm'n'Chords Pro v2.5 adds a special 'RealGuitar' mode providing direct access to the RealGuitar 1.5 multi-sample architecture.
Bitcartel announces an update to RadioLover, the MP3 radio song recorder, bringing it to version 1.3. The update brings iTunes playlist integration, user recording styles and other enhancements and bug fixes.
RadioLover costs $15 and registered users can upgrade for free.
HyperEngine is an OS X native multimedia editor that offers an innovative trackless, free-form interface. HyperEngine-AV allows the combination of video, audio and text for the creation of full DV quality multimedia content, ranging from family movies or slide shows to business presentations and feature films. HyperEngine-AV is now at version 1.3. This is a free update to v. 1.2.x registered users. The app is now quite stable (Panther recommended).
Ego Systems (ESI) released 2 small size AudioMidi controler keyboards. The first one, "A On" features 25 keys, 16 function buttons, 8 assignable wheels and knobs and an audio interface that supports up to 24bit/96kHz audio quality. A.ON even provides a microphone and Hi-Z instrument input. A.ON connects to the host computer via Firewire. its little brother "NeOn", has the same features but it connects to the host computer via USB.
Cantor is a vocal synth that can actually "sing" from text lyrics. That's right, with Cantor you can finally turn those lyrics into vocals without involving a human being, with a sonic effect ranging from weird to . . . weirder. This 1.0.2 update features : new factory phoneme sets for better intelligibility, new example projects and voice presets, new phoneme parameter "Damp" adjusts spectral slope, context menu in Score editor for tool selection and copy/paste and bugfixes.

202 Hack is an application that converts sequence information stored in standard MIDI files into a format compatible with Roland MC-202 sequences. You choose one or two MIDI channels, whose note information is then extracted from the MIDI file and converted into the "internal" and/or "external" sequences of the 202. Accent and Portamento can also be coded for.
The new OS X version is today available and costs $15.
Bias has posted an update v1.1.2 of SoundSoap, the audio cleaning solution which easily & instantly reduces noise from your digital video or digital audio files. This update resolves the error: "unknown chunk found in AVI file" when saving out an AVI file in Sound Soap V1.1.1.

Cacophony is an audio editor made by Richard Banister. It has a number of unique features which set it apart from other similar programs for Mac. Over twenty different file formats are supported with read and write support, and a number of additional formats can be read in. This update fixes some bugs.

Bias has announced that all versions of its audio editor Peak (Pro - DV - LE) have been updated today to version 4.12. These updates fixe some bugs : adds the "Delete" process to the list of processed in the batch file processor, problems with SMDI transfers have been fixed, compatibility with WAVES mono/mono AudioUnit plug-ins has been fixed, fixed a problem when using a mono file with stereo WAVES plug-ins, fixes a problem with the repair click function, fixes a problem where hitting the fade out button rapidly would cause a crash, fixes a problem with 32-bit WAVE files, fixes a problem with some plug-in GUIs when playback stops and fixes a problem with -39 errors in JAM when saving or bouncing to a JAM image.

Mac Music is doing his best to manage the classified ads section but there can be some swindler lurking around like the japanese vendor which was proposing a G4 mac for a very cheap price (pretending to be in humanitary mission in Burkina Faso) and asking for a Western Union transfer before the sending of the Mac, quite suspicious so in brief be very careful when you see such a good (too good!) offer in the ads section.

Cycling'74 has posted a general bugfix for Pluggo in AU/VST/AU for Mac OS X. Pluggo is a collection of more than seventy-four audio plug-ins that work with Mac OS sequencers and audio applications. Effects categories include delays, filters, pitch effects, distortion, granulation, spectral effects, modulators, multi-channel effects, synthesizers, audio routing, reverb and dynamics, and visual display.

Emagic have updated the OS X AU versions of EVP73 and EXSP24 to v1.1. Thes versions feature more compatibility, further minor improvements and the EXSP24 now supports the AKAI S1000 and S3000 sample format.
