Plug-ins : RoomVerb M2 2.1 for Mac OS X - macmusic

SpinAudio have announced the support of Mac OS X with the release of new 2.1 version of RoomVerb M2 audio plug-in. The plug-in is now available in VST and Audio Unit formats. RoomVerb M2 is an audio plug-in that is designed to deliver top quality reverberation into native audio processing platform. The list below outlines the main features of RoomVerb M2: virtual Room Acoustics Modeller Plate and Outdoor acoustic space simulation modes, reverb Modulation with a choice of random LFOs, comprehensive control of Early and Late reflections, separate 3-band parametric equalizers for Early and Late reflections and more.

RoomVerb M2 2.1 is available for Mac OS X 10.2.2 or higher with a VST or/and Audio Unit compatible host application and can be purchased in the SpinAudio OnLine Shop for 145 USD.

Ignition virtual instruments

Three new Virtual Instruments are going to be launched by famous swedish sample designer eLAB distributed by Big Fish Audio. All three feature an 8 track REX2 player plug-in for OSX (all formats including VST and AU) with a 3 gigabyte library on DVD and custom multitrack REX files. FOUNDATION will be devoted to old school hip-hop and R'nB, OBSESSION to R'nB, HipHop and Pop and PERFECTION to House productions.

No audio demo is available at the moment, all three instruments are due in the second quarter of 2004.

This active monitors (50 to 80W) are shielded and have a frequency range from 52Hz to 35KHz with balanced/unbalanced connections (XLR/1/4"and RCA). They propose a new type of tweeter based on ART technology

One pair of Apple cost 1200 euros, along the line are also some passive monitors (ANF10 for 610 euros a pair).

Absynth 2.05 update

The Absynth Audio Unit plugin is now compatible with MOTU Digital Performer. The RTAS plug-in is included. Absynth is now more reliable on some audio hardware .The crash on launch on some dual processor configurations under Panther is now fixed as many smaller bugs.

ps clouvel : bugfix again by Native Instruments !! It peharps works. Try it.. it's free and it's not usual for N.I....

Unnatural Rhythm CD

Mac OS X v10.3.4 Update is now available. These are some of the enhancements that are delivered with the Mac OS X v10.3.4 Update : improves compatibility with mass storage devices, includes recent Mac OS X Security Updates, improves FireWire audio compatibility and more..

This update is available via "software update" in mac OS X pref panel.

With the departure of our beloved Peter Kirn, who is leaving his Editor-in-Chief role, there now exists a big hole in the MacMusic News section. Clouvel (Editor-in-Chief on the French side) and I will do our best to replace him in the meantime, but as English is not our native language, our contributions will be lacking perfection.

Here is where you can help: we need more news posters from the English side, and one of them should eventually become our new Editor-in-Chief. So don't be shy - share your writing talents with the MacMusic community and start posting news articles. Then, if you find that you enjoy it, and if you are willing to spend approximately 10 to 30 minutes each day to edit and validate pending news items, then please propose your Editor-in-Chief candidacy by sending me an email.

Storm updated to 3.0

Arturia's team (from Grenoble, France) has released STORM version 3 for OSX, adding a complete midi support, a new audio sequencer and a new GM synthesizer. Ergonomy has also been improved (full project in one screen and revamped console). Storm Music Studio costs 149 Euros. It is free for customers who bought it after Nov 1st 2003.
This software will be available from may 28 th.
